Cairns Dive Centre - Dive Sites

Our chosen reef sites (moorings) are Govenment regulated and we are very fortunate to be one of the first companies in Cairns thus allowing us a choice of true Outer Reef Sites. We have registered moorings at Milln, Briggs, Moore, Elford, Channel and Thetford Reefs. Way beyond the inner reefs, Sand Cays and Islands of our competitors and affording us greater visibility - approximately 40 nautical miles (70 kilometers) from the coast of Cairns. The experienced Reef-Kist and Kangaroo Explorer Reef Teams – selected for their local knowledge and love of the ocean - will take you to the best dive and snorkel sites available.

Departing daily from the Marlin Marina, M.V. Reef-Kist normally visits two (2) different snorkel/dive locations each day. This also allows transfers to our liveaboard vessel MV Kangaroo Explorer which cruises amongst these same sites on a daily basis. Kangaroo Explorer only returns to Cairns on the first Tuesday of each month at night after the night dive is completed to replentish fuel and stores. Leaving again at 2.30am and arriving back onto the reef system at 6am so all snorkel and dive programs are not interrupted.
