Apply to work for cdc as a PADI DIVE INSTRUCTOR or dive master

CDC regularly accepts PADI Dive Instructor and PADI Divemaster applicants. To apply, click the link below and supply details of the following prerequisites:

To apply for a position, you will need:

  • Professional Dive Medical AS2299
  • Queensland Advanced First Aid HLTAID006
  • Current PADI Dive Instructor / Divemaster Certification
  • Dive Log
  • Own Dive equipment
  • Contact details of previous dive employer
  • Available for a free one day onboard famil (familiarisation course), involving skills tests in swimming, rescue, look out, WPHS, ship board skills and customer service
  • A valid Australian Work Visa, Tax File number, Superannuation and Australian Banking details

Cairns Dive Centre offers a PADI Dive Master Traineeship (DMT) Program.

The DMT Program is $550 with an unpaid 40 days 'work-off'.

The prerequisites for the PADI DMT Program:

  • Professional Dive Medical AS2299
  • Queensland Advanced First Aid HLTAID006
  • PADI Rescue Diver Certificate
  • 40 Logged Dives

The DMT program involves completing the PADI elearning Dive Master Course before you commence the training. You will also need to hold a current Queensland Professional Dive medical (AS2299) and Queensland First Aid course (HLTAID006). The diver is required to hold a Rescue Diver Certification and a dive log with up to a minimum of 40 logged dives.

Question: I would like to complete the DMT Program, but I don't hold a Rescue Diver Certificate, what can I do?

Answer: Complete our Rescue Diver Certification for $185 with an unpaid 20 days 'work-off'.

The prerequisites for the PADI Rescue Diver Certification:

  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Professional Dive Medical AS2299
  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid with CPR

Note that at the end of the Divemaster program, there is an annual fee of $210 payable to PADI

  • CDC conducts a Dive Master information session every Friday at 11am at 121 Abbott Street Cairns, Queensland Australia. We will give you quality time to explain the program in detail and answer any questions. Bookings are not necessary.
