Dive Control Specialist - $1672.00

The Divemaster Course is the first step in making diving your career. You will have the opportunity to assist entry-level students both in the classroom and pool as well as in open water. You will learn advanced navigation, boat diving operations, and a lot more that will make you a qualified dive leader.

At Cairns Dive Centre we conduct our Divecon program to the highest of standards. We pride ourselves in producing Dive Leaders of high quality making them very employable in the dive industry worldwide.

With our 4 week program you will not only become a Dive Control Specialist, you will also be a qualified Assistant Instructor, able to teach and certify the SSI snorkeling program, teach scuba skills updates and more.

You will receive five days of training with one of our very experienced Dive Control Specialist Instructors. Here you will cover a number of topics throughout these five days including skill presentations, theory and personal development.

As a Divecon candidate you will assist one of our Instructors in the conduct of three separate Open Water courses over a 3 week period. During this time, not only will all other requisite assignments be completed but the candidate will also be assisting with the conduct of Adventure Diver, Advanced Diver and Specialty diving together with the guidance and orientation of certified divers to the dive sites that we go to.

On each of these weeks, the candidate will spend 2 days at our Training Facility, 3 days at the GreatBarrier Reef on our live aboard vessel M.V. Kangaroo Explorer and then have 2 days off. Each 3 day stay on the M.V. Kangaroo Explorer will give the Divecon candidate up to 10 open water dives.

With this advantage, Divecon candidates can log a possible further 30 dives and we guarantee that you will also have a very broad and in-depth working knowledge of what the job really entails.
