What is a Referral?

Students who have already completed the classroom and pool training sections of an Entry-Level Open Water Scuba Diving certification course with a recognised training agency can travel with Cairns Dive Centre to finish their course by completing the open-water training dives in the ocean with our professional Reef team.  Do not choose this option if you are already a certified diver or if you are a snorkeler and wish to try a dive (Introductory dives) as part of a Snorkeling Trip.

Using state of the art diving equipment on our comfortable liveaboard vessel, M.V. Kangaroo Explorer, you can explore some of the best dive sites the Outer Great Barrier Reef has to offer.

Our experienced Reef Team will help you see a vast array of hard and soft corals, great drop-offs, exciting walls and swim-throughs and all the normal marine life our sites have to offer. Nemo, sting rays, reef sharks and turtles to name a few.

You can also experience the unbelievable thrill of Night Diving on the Great Barrier Reef.

We visit a variety of the best reef sites available about two (2) hours from the coast off Cairns. These sites include Moore, Milln, Briggs, Elford and Thetford reefs.

Enjoy four (4) Instructor-supervised training dives to complete your certification, followed by 1 daytime pleasure dive.  An optional Introductory Night Dive is available for AUD $60 (pay onboard.)

Course Includes:

• Pick up from your city accommodation
• One (1) snorkel training dive, four (4) open water scuba training dives and one (1) pleasure dive
• State-of-the-art dive gear, including dive computers
• Wetsuits or Stinger Suits
• Use of Training materials (available in all major languages)
• Free use of a prescription mask if required during the course
• All meals prepered by our chef while onboard

There are a number of optional activities available for you onboard Kangaroo Explorer including extra nights and continued diver education programs, subject to availability. Please enquire at our office or while onboard.

* Schedules, dive site movements and number of dives planned are subject to weather and other conditions and are executed by the Master of the Vessel for the benefit and safety of all passengers and crew on the day.
