Cairns Dive Centre's overnight vessel Kangaroo Explorer is a 36 person floating hotel. CDC prides itself on the pristine conditions of the 19 reef moorings that we have cared for since 1983. We enjoy showing all our travelers the best ways to explore the Great Barrier Reef whilst staying on-board Kangaroo Explorer.

Plus the night diving is a MUST for all divers wanting to see which marine life are alert at during your night dive.

Cairns Dive Centre also offer INTRODUCTORY DIVING. Experience the world of diving with no experience necessary. If you are able to swim, medically fit (see T&C) and have a keen sense of adventure - we can take you below the surface to see the Great Barrier Reef up close and personal. Day One

  • Arrive at CDC Dive Shop at 6:45am ( approx ) - bus pick ups can be arranged from Hotels / Hostels
  • Depart CDC to E Finger to board MV Sunkist to transfer to MV Kangaroo Explorer
  • Depart Cairns Marina at 7:30am ( approx )
  • Travel via Fitzroy Island to collect or drop passengers
  • Arrive at MV Kangaroo Explorer at 10:00am ( approx )
  • Welcome / Safety briefing - Room Allocation
  • Lunch at 11:30am ( approx )
  • First Dive / Snorkel session 1:00pm
  • MV Sunkist departs at 2:30pm ( approx )
  • MV Kangaroo Explorer moves to second REEF location
  • Second Dive / Snorkel session 4:00pm
  • Dinner at 6:00pm ( approx )
  • Third Dive session - NIGHT DIVE - 7:00 ( approx )

Day Two

  • First Dive / Snorkel session 6:00am
  • Breakfast at 7:00am ( approx )
  • MV Kangaroo Explorer moves to new REEF location 7:00am ( approx )
  • Second Dive / Snorkel session 8:00am ( approx )
  • Third Dive / Snorkel session 10:30am ( approx )
  • Lunch at 12:00 ( approx )
  • Forth Dive / Snorkel session 1:00pm
  • MV Sunkist departs at 2:30pm ( approx ) - returns to Cairns at 4:30pm ( approx )

  • MV Kangaroo Explorer moves to second REEF location 2:30pm ( approx )
  • Fifth Dive / Snorkel session 4:00pm
  • Dinner at 6:00pm ( approx )
  • Sixth Dive session - NIGHT DIVE - 7:00pm ( approx )

Day Three
